My name is Jonquil Elise Dreadful.
I own and operate Fiercelocks. I am an Artisanal Hair Architect and experienced loctician. My business specializes in fantastic hair unique to the individual. I create natural, sustainable, fantastical dreadlocks using a dread crochet technique.

Experience & Training
I’ve been an active hairdresser and licensed cosmetologist for over 25 years–since 1993. I’m professionally certified in Washington State, Michigan, and British Columbia, Canada and have taught my skill set internationally. Most recently, in April 2018, I completed all levels of ModLocks Training in Toronto.

I enjoy a loyal following for my unique and beautiful dreads & extensions. Scissors, creativity and a honed skill set are how I make hair magic!

Artisanal Hair Architecture by Jonquil Dreadful

What it is:

  • It’s a hook work technique done with a crochet hook very similar to a daisy chain produced by a crochet artist. It cleans up bases, increases dreadlock strength, cleans up fuzz, and produces tidy dreadlocks.
  • Natural, Sustainable Hair: Does not cause tension or traction or pain. These dreadlocks are comfortable to wear. They can be shampooed before your appointment as well as afterward by you. Keeps your scalp neat and healthy.
  • Pain Disclaimer: While I’m doing the hook work, it might hurt. Afterwards, most people do not experience pain and you will likely have comfortable dreads.

  • Maintenance: Maintain at 3-6 month intervals depending on the individual.

What it is NOT:

  • Shampooing
  • Retwist
  • Braids
  • Interlock
  • Palm Roll
  • Products
  • Color

  • I do NOT offer these services, I suggest checking instagram and google if you need these services.

  • I do NOT provide retwist service, shampoo services, chemical services, blow dries/dryer sets, trims or cuts or clipper cuts of any kind.

  • I do NOT provide dreadlocks styling or braids of any type

Dreadlock Crochet

Natural, Sustainable Dreadlocks.

Dreadlock crochet is a technique for the creation of new, natural, sustainable dreadlocks using a hook and hand technique.

Dreadlock crochet is used both to create and to maintain natural dreadlocks. It adds length, repairs and enhances dreadlocks.

Perfect for people wanting to start new dreads or maintain existing ones.
